Increasing Sales and Leads
I recently had a chat with a top network marketer who is running a campaign to increase his leads. He then turns those leads into conversions. This technique is applicable to any business and for commissioned sales people.
The Strategy
It is simple yet effective. This network marketer uses Vacation Incentives to generate a mailing list. A survey conducted found that email list marketing is four times more effective than social media marketing, paid ads and direct mail. The survey showed that email marketing has a median ROI of 122%.
How to Use This Strategy
It’s much more straightforward if you have your own business. You simply offer your website visitors a trip for a sale or for a quote or maybe even for an inspection. I will give you some examples.
AC Repair- Receive a free three night resort stay in Vegas with any AC tune up service.
Car Lot- Come test drive one of our cars and receive three nights in Orlando.
Real Estate- List your home with me and get Five days in Cancun.
The possibilities are endless. One bank in Australia did over $1 billion dollars in sales for clients who switched banks to theirs using this same tactic.
Network Marketing Lead Generation Tactic
If you are a network marker or in direct sales it is not so straightforward. Most direct sales companies will not let you have a website promoting their products. However after my conversation with this top producer, who has been featured in magazines, does public speaking and has multiple businesses, I was able to see his technique.
He created a website but does not push the product he is promoting. Instead he uses it as a lead generation tool to build his email list.
Example:
“Visit this site and if you register to our email list we will give you 5 nights in Cancun, Mexico.”
He then markets to his email list and converts them into customers and builds his down-line.
See, he has violated none of the terms of service using this technique. He has not given away anything to his customers or down-line because they are not customers or in his down-line yet!
I shot a video recently describing that it usually takes six interactions to make a sale. Well in this case he can interact through his list!
He has used this to great effect in a very short time. Here is what he told me.
In June alone, which is not quite over. He has 200+ NEW LEADS he can market too!
No matter what business you are in 200 leads is not a small thing.

The Process One more time
Here is the process one more time for a brick and mortar business, commissioned sales people and business people with a product to sell.
Create a site, if you don’t have one.
Attract attention to the site, either through word of mouth, business cards, radio, T.V., paid ads, social media or SEO.
Get people who visit to sign up using an incentive. If you do not, you will find the time effort and money you put into to marketing will be less effective, also making it more expensive! Make sure to collect names and email addresses AT LEAST!
If you are in Network Marketing, MLM or Direct sales, the process is as follows.
Setup a site, but don’t talk about the product, you likely will be breaking the TOS. Instead talk about yourself. Making money from home, starting your own business, how to make extra money etc…
Have a page designed to collect leads, give them an incentive to sign up.
When they sign up for the incentive, THEN you start talking to them about yourself and your products.
Six Interactions
Remember, it takes SIX interactions, on average, to make a sale. You might be able to cut that down by a step or two but you still need a way to keep in continuous contact with the leads you DO manage to get.
