$99 Vacation Packages
$99 vacation packages sound like a wonderful idea after the year 2020 handed us. Isolation, social distancing, facial coverings and businesses being shuttered has left many of us feeling stir crazy. One way to breath some life back into your household is to get out and take your family on a nice little vacation. But money might be a little tight right now. So how can you find something that won’t break the back and still create lifelong memories? Find a $99 vacation package for your family!
For domestic travelers within the United States, there are $99 vacation packages available. These packages are usually part of a brief timeshare presentation on one of your vacation days. I know what you’re thinking. Timeshare presentation? YUCK! Just hold on a minute before you tune out. I have done a few of these and they are not bad at all. I will share my experiences to give you a clearer picture. First, I want to tell you more about the deals available. If you like what you see but are still worried about the presentation just check out my guide on saying no during the timeshare sales pitch. It will get you through quickly and easily so you can get to the rest of your vacation!
Where can I stay for just $99?
You are probably thinking that for $99 you would be getting a dump in some remote area in the middle of nowhere. Nothing could be further from the truth!
For example, for just $99 you can stay in a 31 story hotel and casino that is just one block from the Vegas strip! You would be staying at resorts that are set right in the middle of everywhere you would want to go. Not that you would want to leave anyway! With over a dozen onsite restaurants, a sports book if you’re the gambling type, pool, spa, room service and live entertainment inside of their theater!
We are not just talking any old acts either. They have Motown acts, magic and comedy too! And if you think these are just B level acts, think again. They have Kool and the Gang and Barry Manilow! How does all that sounds for a $99 vacation package?
So maybe Vegas is not for you this time around. Where else can you stay and how long can you stay there? I
The majority of these packages are for 4 days, 3 nights. There are just a few companies that offer these vacation deals but here are some of the destinations available.
**Prices are subject to change. I do not check prices daily or even weekly. Some of these 3 night vacation package deals may be more and some may be less. Either way they are a great value.**

What can I expect at the timeshare presentation?
Now the part that sends chills up everyone’s spine. The presentation! It really is not as bad as you might think if you know what to expect going in. That is why I am here, to fill you in.
Typically, you will be asked to come in the morning so you have the rest of the day to yourself, which is great. You will be served breakfast and once seated you will be with a sales rep who will go over their program. They may take you to other rooms to watch a presentation then they rep will speak to you some more. The presentations last between 90-120 minutes depending on the resort. That sounds like a long time but it really does pass quickly. After that, you are free to go enjoy your vacation. That’s it!
Now I am going to give you a little information about the sales reps themselves. These reps are trained to be assertive, but I have not found them aggressive. They will take no for an answer but they will try to get you to reconsider. If you are truly not interested, just keep answering no. On one timeshare trip we took we actually WERE interested but then we changed our mind. Showing interest added about 30 minutes to the time. Still, it was no big deal. We had a blast and saved a ton of money at the same time.

Is it worthwhile to take a $99 vacation package?
In my opinion it is. I have gone on five or more at this point and each one was a great time. The brief amount of time spent having breakfast and speaking to a representative is worth the hundreds or thousands of dollars in savings.
If you are the type of person that thinks in dollars and cents let me break it down for you.
Remember the Vegas hotel I mentioned earlier? I just checked and staying 3 nights in their cheapest room would cost me $470 before tax. That is a difference of roughly $370. They say time is money right? So lets figure out how much your time is worth in this scenario. You pay $99 and I pay $470 but you spent two hours at the presentation. So, $370 divided by 2 hours means your time was worth $185 and hour! To put that in perspective, if you worked a full time job and made $185 an hour you would be making almost $400,000 a year in wages. In other words, the discount you get from this $99 vacation package has real value.
Sometimes the resort gives perks too! The Vegas resort I have been using as an example, they give you $100 worth of chips to use in their casino as part of the deal. Not bad for a $99 vacation package.
Why do they give these Vacation deals for just $99?
If it weren’t post 2020 many people would not understand. But since it is I find it far easier to explain.
Resorts and Hotels have busy seasons and slow seasons. During the busy seasons the resorts are filled near or at capacity. This is why rates go up. It’s due to occupancy.
On the other hand, when it is slow season sometimes the resorts are half full or less. During slow season they still have facilities to maintain, leases to pay, staff to employ, power bills etc… This is when they bring the rates down. If they offer timeshares this is a prime opportunity to bring in guests they normally would not have and fill the resort.
This means the restaurants are being occupied, the rooms are full and tipped employees can earn a living during these times. If they happen to sell a timeshare or two while they are at it that’s a bonus.
After 2020 many resorts are still struggling to find visitors. What this means for you is you can experience top notch service and amenities as these resorts begin to fill up again.
Is there a catch?
Besides the presentation, the only “catch” is you have to meet a minimum age requirement and a minimum income requirement. This varies by resort but going back to my Vegas example the qualifications are: Must have a valid credit or debit card, be a married couple or cohabiting couple, be between the age of 28-68, be able to speak English or Spanish and earn $60,000 as a couple. Both members of the coupe must attend the presentation.
There may be some black out dates during peak times and you have to book at least 30 days in advance. You can book up to 18 months in advance though. I am not sure how strict they are with blackout dates and the 30 day notice due to the year we just had but you can always try to book and see what happens.
Where can I book $99 Vacation packages?
I booked my $99 vacation deals through BookVIP. Not just that, I took some of their Mexico trips too. While those were not $99 they still were dirt cheap. On the other hand, the Mexican resorts are all inclusive so all the food, beverages and entertainment come with the deal. Those packages go from 5-7 nights but we have been able to extend them for longer.
