Is the Norwegian Sky the Ultimate Booze Cruise?
Thankfully we are lucky enough to travel on a regular basis. One of the cruises we took was the Norwegian Sky (NCL Sky) out of Miami. While any ship can be a “booze cruise” the Sky has one perk that few ships have. The cost of the cruise includes all the drinks you can manage to consume.
Norwegian Sky Ports
While having fun on board the ship is important, equally important are the ports of call!
The Norwegian Sky has a 3 day cruise and a 4 day cruise.
3 Day Norwegian Sky Ports:
CRUISE PORTS Embark Miami (Florida); Nassau (Bahamas); Great Stirrup Cay (Bahamas); Disembark Miami (Florida)
4 Day Norwegian Sky Ports:
CRUISE PORTS Embark Miami (Florida); Great Stirrup Cay (Bahamas); Key West (Florida); Havana (Cuba); Disembark Miami (Florida)
When you decide to leave determines if you get the 3 day or the 4 day cruise. Travelers leaving Friday, return Monday and get the 3 day cruise.
Travelers leaving Monday, return Friday and get the 4 day cruise.
Of course once at a port you can participate in any number of excursions offered by the ship or you can simply walk around the port on your own.
On board the Norwegian Sky
Once you are on the ship, there is plenty to do even when not at a port.
- They have a pool and plenty activities poolside
- Music playing throughout the ship
- Karaoke
- Contests
- Casino
- Several bars and lounges
- A number of shows
What to Expect aboard the NCL Sky
We have been on the Sky three times and the crowd is often very similar. Being a shorter cruise the crowd tends to be mixed, leaning a little towards the younger side. If I had to pinpoint an age range I would say you will find cruisers between the ages of 20 something to 50 something.
Obviously, there will be cruisers of all ages but the demographic above is what I experienced.
Furthermore, the later it seems to get, the younger the crowd also seems to get.
Because of the booze being included in the price, you can expect some rowdiness from time to time.
Most people on board are fairly well behaved but with unlimited liquor available, sometimes a guest may get a bit out of hand.
Norwegian Sky Review
We had a pretty good time each time we went on the cruise. It is definitely what I would call a booze cruise and no drink package is required to drink for free.
Finally, I’d give this cruise a thumbs up for someone who has limited time to travel and wants to let their hair down and party!
